Welcome to the web site of the
Oblate JPIC effort.
The
Oblate Justice and
Peace/Integrity of Creation Office, located in Washington DC serves as a
resource for Oblates seeking to become more involved in advocacy
efforts. Staff from the Office represent the Oblates in advocacy
efforts in DC and around the world.
The
Oblate Ecological Initiative
(OEI), based out of Godfrey, Illinois, works to increase awareness of
the importance of safeguarding the environment through various
interactive educational projects.
As part of the OEI,
Darrel
Rupiper, OMI travels around the country making Oblate and other parishes
more aware of God’s call to respect the integrity of God’s Creation.
Oblates all over the US and the
world are working to advance justice, peace and the integrity of
creation. They:

work towards just treatment
of immigrants
-
struggle for nuclear
disarmament
-
protest for peace
-
work towards more affordable
housing
-
help youth to become more
active citizens
among other activities, all of
which form an important part of the Oblate JPIC effort.
