What We Do

Ecological Learning Center: retreats, programs, seasonal celebrations, off-site presentations and retreats

Community Supported Garden:  We have engaged in an ongoing process of creating a sustainable, just, healthy food system where we grow and distribute organic vegetables, herbs and flowers for close to 100 families.  This project is currently (August, 2004) well into its second season.  Our Community Supported Garden is a relationship of mutual support and commitment between our community members, our farmers and the land itself.  The members (or shareholders) pay an annual membership fee that covers the production costs of the project.  They also contribute 3 hours a month of contributed labor in some form or fashion:  from designing a web site, to helping with weeding, to keeping a budget, to building fencing.  The farmers do their best in working with the land to provide a wide variety of produce harvested in season at their peak of ripeness, flavor and vitamin and mineral content.  This arrangement guarantees the farmers financial support.
